Business Water

business water

You may not know that UK businesses can save between 5% and 30% by switching their water retailer. Since the market was deregulated, businesses have more choice and access to improved procurement methods, yet many remain on default tariffs without realising there could be a better option.

Finding out if you could save is simple. We’ve created an easy process that allows our experts to gather a few key details, review your current costs, and quickly identify whether there’s an opportunity to reduce your water spend.

All we need is your spid

What is a Spid Number?

SPID stands for Supply Point Identification Number. Put simply, it’s a unique reference number that water suppliers use to identify the water supply for each of your business premises. Using your SPID, suppliers can view the historical usage of your site, including previous meter readings, allowing them to provide a more accurate and tailored water quote for your business.

How do I find out my SPID number?

You will usually find your SPID on each invoice from your water supplier. It may be listed simply as SPID or under its full name, Supply Point Identification Number/ID. If you’re unable to locate it on your paperwork, your supplier can provide it, just contact them with the address of your premises and they’ll confirm your SPID. It’s important not to confuse your SPID with your meter serial number. You’ll have one SPID per site, even if there are multiple water meters, as all meters are grouped under the same identification number.

Do I use the same number for my sewage/wastewater?

The SPID number for your sewerage is different to your main water supply and normally located on your invoice alongside it. For your wastewater, you willl be looking for a 10-digit number followed by an ‘S’ rather than a ‘W’. This will then be followed by another digit and another letter, rather than two digits like your water ID.
